In a very fast society, it is really easy to take things to heart. it's easy to think that no one cares and that is why when someone comes into your life and takes the time to show that they do care, we need to take the time to hold on to that. to embrace it.
It can be easier said than done not to take things to heart.
No one really stops to think how a word, a look or a comment may hurt someone.
No one really stops to think how a word might completely make our day.
Not everyone of us is a Sharon Strzlecki who chases people down at traffic lights and thanks them personally for giving way to her four blocks away.
Because everyone is so concerned about how they are living life, what is on their mind, what they have to do that day, I highly doubt that people are giving me a second thought that I said something wrong, that I walked into something last week etc.
What I do know about this world, is we are becoming an angry, more impatient society. The day isn't going any slower or any quicker just because I am walking at a slower pace to you, the world won't fall apart if you're five minutes later to an appointment.
It is none of my business what you think of me, because it's what I think of me that is most important.
We are a judgmental society and the pressure in society that we put on ourselves is a lot of pressure to have in this world.
When you see someone bigger than you -
'Oh, they must eat a lot of crap, oh my God, they must have a poor diet and sit on their butt all day doing nothing.
When you see someone with a disability, a physical disability, I will quite often have people speak louder to me, I have news for you, it's my legs that don't work. MY EARS WORK PERFECTLY FINE.
Just like the title off this blog, sometimes my legs exceed expectations.
My point to this blog is that we are constantly being judged for what we wear (too bright, too tight etc).
If we are big and we eat a big meal, we are being judged by having an obsession with food.
If we eat a small meal and we are small, we have a disorder.
People may be in their own little world, but all too often, people live in other people's world thinking they have all the answers....
I have news for you.... you haven't got a clue.
